Diverse Learner Preferences

When answering this question it is important that we understand two things. Firstly what the question means by "diverse learner preferences", and secondly what teaching and assessment methods and materials are available.

Regarding diverse learning preferences it helps to remember that students all have different strengths, temperaments, different expectations of teaching and learning, and different responses to specific classroom environments. The more you are aware of these differences, the more equipped you will be to meet the diverse learning needs of all your students.

You can respond to this diversity through flexible and varied approaches to your teaching and assessment. For example, you could use audio-visual materials, wikis, forums etc. alongside traditional text based materials, or you could combine traditional lectures with a range of other methods such as e-learning, practicals, field trips, tutorials or group work.
